Australia is ranked sixth on the Legatum Prosperity Index, and is an increasingly popular destination for visitors from around the world. The tourists who come to Australia often want to stay as long as possible, and once they have done their working holiday visa rural work, the next best option is often to study. And it’s not just tourists looking to extend their visas who are seeking education in Australia, it’s people from all around the world who come, drawn by the incredible quality of universities and private colleges.

Australia has four universities ranked in the top fifty universities in the world, and with such a temperate climate and pretty environment to study in, it’s no wonder that people from around the world come here to learn. We’d like to look at some of the benefits of studying in Australia and how to get started, including information on getting an education consultant in Melbourne. Let’s take a look now.

A School with High Recognition

In Australia, we have the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which is a national policy that we have in place to ensure that all study that is done in the country is done so in a recognised and unified way. We saw the introduction of this in 1995 and since this point, there have been pathways established between qualifications and jobs, and there have been standards set for learning outcomes at each level. What this means is that no matter what you study, you’re always going to get the necessary formal recognition that you need.

Education Quality

In the year 2000, Australia implemented the Education Services for Overseas Students Act which serves to protect the standards that we have in place for international students. So when you’re looking to study here, you know that the education you’re going to be getting is top notch – and regulated by the government.

Exemplary Research

She be small, but she be mighty! In Australia, we have a relatively small population but there are a huge number of people doing incredible things with research in Australia. For people who are interested in research, Australia is a truly great place to be. The amount of research that comes from Australia is largely thanks to a large sum of support from the Australian government, who are keen to see advancements made on home soil.

They Offer Foundation Studies

If you’re keen to study in Australia but are worried you don’t have the grades to get into what you want, that’s ok! Many Australian schools offer foundation studies which are one-year preparatory courses to help you to get the skills and qualifications that you need to continue your education in Australia.

And of course, there’s the perks of the visa…

We can’t complete this list without looking at the student visa as one of the perks of studying in Australia. Most of the student visas will allow you to work up to 40 hours per week (full time employment) while your course is running and then will allow you unlimited hours of study when you’re on uni or study holidays. This is a definite benefit for many students.

For those of you who are eager to study in Australia, we recommend that you get and education consultant who can help to make the whole process smooth and easy. When looking to study, it can be a bit confusing, but with an education consultant on your side, things will be a lot easier. Good luck with it all!
