Not sure what to do with yourself this October long weekend? We’ve got plenty of ideas!

Klub Kiki Poster for the Big Gay Weekend

Big Gay Weekend is a chance for the whole community to come together, celebrate and raise much needed funds by supporting local venues, promoters and retailers. This year, as well as raising funds for the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade Community Grants Scheme, we are sharing the love and joining forces with the NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby, Queer Screen and Harbour City Bears, to support the work they do for our community.

Kicking off, we’re celebrating the final stop on the Scissor Sisters’ Australian tour at Sydney Opera House on 27 September, by throwing an unforgettable one-off KLUB KIKI official after party at Oxford Art Factory. Starring: DJ Sammy Jo (Scissor Sisters tour DJ), Sveta, Dan Murphy and very special guests…

Then we’re reclaiming the Golden Mile with the return of Big Gay Friday, where we ask people to come out and purchase a $10 wristband, which allows entry into all of the participating venues on the strip.

Queer Screen, Harbour City Bears and Mardi Gras take over all 4 levels of The Oxford Hotel on Saturday night for We Love Saturday, a one-off fundraising bash featuring a who’s who of the DJ world including Kate Monroe, Kam Shafaati, Matt Vaughan, Jake Kilby and many more.

Over Saturday and Sunday some of Sydney’s best-loved party brands and promoters will provide a smorgasbord of events for every taste – from fabulous glamour and drama at Glitter Ball and Diva Fever, to down and dirty at Action, Rezerection and DILF, and everything in between!

Plus there’s the Big Ideas Day and the Shop Local initiative.
