Rediscovering Perth – Fun things to do this Weekend!

Every city has its charm where you can find something new and exciting around every corner, or explore the quieter regions away from the concrete jungle and traffic. Perth is a growing city that stretches out into the North, East and South; the West is occupied by the Indian Ocean and Rottnest Island. As avid explorers, we Perthians seek new adventures; whether that may be down by the coast or high in the hills, there’s something for everyone to do in Perth over the weekend.

Day trips are among the most fun things to do on the weekend; they don’t require an overnight stay commitment, you don’t need to plan too much and can instead enjoy spontaneous moments throughout your trip. Also, as students, you’re cautious of activities that don’t cost too much.

Here are some of the top things you can do this weekend in and around Perth, which are either free or offer student discounts:

Caversham Wildlife Park

Better than the zoo, here you get to touch the animals, such as kangaroos and koalas, and get up close and personal with more Australian wildlife.

Explore the desert history of prehistoric sedimentary coral rock formations on a sunny day out – and the beach is not too far away too, if you feel like taking a freeing dip in the ocean.
