Universal Pictures’ latest romantic comedy, About Time, is set to hit Australian Cinemas soon.
But it not the mere notion that yet another rom-com is set to release that has got us pumped; it the fact that it comes from Richard Curtis, the writer who has in the past brought to the audiences a varied set of romantic comedies that has lifted the movies from the banal into box-0ffice successes.
The official synopsis by Universal Pictures (Australia) is as follows:
From Richard Curtis, the writer of Notting Hill, Love Actually, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Four Weddings and a Funeral comes this funny, tender, poignant love story that celebrates life and family.
The night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim’s father (Bill Nighy) tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time.
Tim can’t change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life—so he decides to make his world a better place…by getting a girlfriend. Sadly, that turns out not to be as easy as you might think.
Rachel McAdams, the UK’s newest leading man Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Nighy & Australia’s Margot Robbie star in this romantic comedy that will have you once again laughing at our ever-so-human foibles and to share a tear at the extraordinary journeys that accompany our ordinary lives.
Hopefully About Time will provide a breath of fresh air and bring romantic comedies back into business!
About Time releases in Australian Cinemas on October 17.
