Russell Brand

If you haven’t seen it already, the BBC’s Jeremy Paxman interviewed Russell Brand on his TV show last week.

Russell Brand has been completing some obligatory media outings recently as he was a guest editor for the News Statesman – a left leaning, hugely popular UK website/magazine that bills itself as “Britain’s leading, best written and most authoritative weekly political, cultural and current affairs magazine.”

One suspects Jeremy Paxman, didn’t expect to find Brand so passionate about politics, and his views on how and why the system should change. Particularly when Brand readily admits that he has never voted in his life.

Two intelligent men with a strong and interesting interview. Despite Brand being a popular comedian – and possibly taken less seriously as a result – his grasp of language is so damn good that he argues his point spectacularly well.

That’s not to say there aren’t some lighthearted parts of the interview.

Paxman: I wouldn’t argue about many of them with you (Brand’s previous points).

Brand: Well then how come I feel so cross with you. It can’t be because of that beard. It’s gorgeous!
